Corrección total y rumbo de aguja de un punto a otro
Work out the compass error (Ct) from the variation and the deviation in the deviation table (tablilla) or from a transit or an opposition (oposición), derive your compass’s deviation from it and convert the true course (Rv) measured from one point to another into the compass course (rumbo de aguja).
Terms
- Regla de los signos (W −, E +)
- En las fórmulas de la carta los valores W (NW) son negativos y los E (NE) positivos: dm, Δ y Ct se suman y restan con su signo.
- Sign rule (W −, E +) — In chartwork formulae, W (NW) values are negative and E (NE) values positive: dm (magnetic variation), Δ (deviation) and Ct (compass error) are added and subtracted with their sign.
- Ct por una enfilación u oposición
- Enfilaciones y oposiciones son líneas de posición verdaderas: la demora medida en la carta sobre ellas es Dv. Se traza la línea, se mide la Dv al mismo punto al que se tomó la Da y Ct = Dv − Da.
- Compass error (Ct) from a transit or oposición — Ranges (enfilaciones) and oposiciones are true lines of position: the bearing measured along them on the chart is the Dv (true bearing). Draw the line, measure the Dv to the same point on which the Da (compass bearing) was taken, and Ct = Dv − Da.
- Rumbo de aguja de un punto a otro
- Se unen la situación de salida y la de llegada, se mide desde la salida el Rv con el transportador, se calcula la Ct y Ra = Rv − Ct.
- Compass course from one point to another — Join the departure position and the arrival position, measure the Rv (true course) from the departure with the protractor (transportador), work out the Ct (compass error), and Ra = Rv − Ct.
- Desvío por una enfilación u oposición
- Con la Ct obtenida en una enfilación u oposición (Ct = Dv − Da) y la dm de la carta, actualizada por su leyenda, se halla el desvío de la aguja a ese rumbo: Δ = Ct − dm. Ej.: Ct −9º y dm 3º W: Δ = −9 − (−3) = −6º.
- Deviation from a transit or oposición (desvío por una enfilación u oposición) — With the Ct obtained on a transit or oposición (Ct = Dv − Da) and the chart’s dm (variation), updated from its legend, you find the compass deviation (Δ) on that heading: Δ = Ct − dm. E.g. Ct −9º and dm 3º W: Δ = −9 − (−3) = −6º.
